ALCOHOL ABUSE AND YOUR CHILD
Kids who start drinking from around the age of 12, have a tendency for becoming alcohol dependent more than those who start late, say around twenty-one years. Excessive binging on weekends has a far-reaching alcohol abuse effect mostly on teenagers and women. This causes maximum number of teen deaths through automobile crashes, suicides and homicides.
It is useless to try hide behind statistics or play the blame game, treatment regarding alcohol abuse should begin with children and teenagers becoming aware of the effects of alcohol.
The parents, peers and authorities need to interact, advice and keep a tab through listing on menu bars or conduct discussions on effects of drugs and alcohol. When responsiveness sets in through parents, peers, laws or advertisements, it becomes easy to tackle the growing menace of alcohol abuse, resulting in nearly 60,000 deaths, each year in the United States. Drinking in moderation is permissible and medically admissible as it reduces the risk of strokes, heart attacks, diabetes or gallstones. Too much of alcohol results in cancer, miscarriage, high blood pressure, heart failure and related problems, damage to newborn children or, under extreme circumstances, suicide also. So as soon as you suspect your child or any grown up having personality disorders, increased food intake, black outs, sneaking in drinks or drinking the whole day from early , then its time to tackle the problem or take help from private or governmental quarters.
