    Definitions of Treatment Services
Criminal justice clients- Clients within the criminal justice system sometimes need substance abuse treatment. There are specific steps and guidelines that need to be followed to have a criminal justice client admitted into a substance abuse treatment program. The first step is to determine eligibility. This requires that a panel decide which criminal justice clients need substance abuse treatment, and how much and what type of treatment is needed.
Substance abuse treatment- Substance abuse treatment is often individualized to each patient, but there are a few steps that each patient needs to take to become drug free. The first of these steps in recognizing the problem. Denial used to be mistakenly believed to be part of the drug addiction symptoms, but recent research is showing it is not. People trying to help a person accept that they have a substance abuse problem need to show empathy, and respect.
Substance abuse treatment services- Substance abuse is seen by most physicians and mental health professionals as a long-term illness and so many substance abuse treatment services are designed to try and find the best way to help someone cope. The people that are considered to have substance use disorder are those who can not stop and whose use is compulsive. A person’s genetics, mental health, and stress levels all have a role in determining if a person has substance use disorder. Substance abuse actually changes the brain, and these changes remain in effect for a long time.

If this "Academy" is associated with 'Casa by the sea' in Mexico, you should be ASHAMED of yourselves. Your unethical practices are DISGUSTING. I am putting this nicely. If any parents can read this before sending your children to this academy, take a first-hand look at the place. Ask for a personal interview with one of the young persons in treatment. Do NOT rely on solely the website for all of your information. If you do so, you can accurately call yourself a BAD parent or advocate of the child.

Is that place really as bad as I hear? It seems a bit better than the other places but I can't be too sure because it opened recently and there isn't too much out there about it..

as a former student i would say this place sucked bad. I will not say there were kids getting beaten like at the previous owner jade robinsons school casa by the sea, i will also not deny it because i never saw it but it probably wouldnt surprise me if i heard it, all that school did for me was help me be dependent when dealing with emotions everything else i picked up on my own after the academy with life lessons, you can have people preach to your kid all day and make them bleed sweat from all the running we did there but nothing will ever prepare your kids for the decisions they will have to make in life, thats why i believe this school is not necessarily a waist but it only can do so much, and for some people it does worst because had i not already been emotionally strong i could see how easy it would be to crack in a place like that or just lose it.

I understand that many people say that Horizon is a boot camp where kids are tortured and this, that and the other. Well, I graduated from there and its a good school where most staff care. I have NEVER seen or heard of anyone being "physically abused". Yes, there are times when we were yelled at for reasons I deem unnecessary, but kids are cussed at in public school all the time. I think that a lot of people are bitter because they sent kids to a programs and those kids chose not to change. But I can only speak for myself and I'm tired of all this bashing of Horizon

Sounds like you were placed there for a reason, for handling your self inappropriately, your parents did'nt sent you there for good behavior no doubt, they sent you there to better your self.To give you a better chance in live so dont throw away what they did for you be grateful.
